McTear (Belfast)

In the mid-19th century this Belfast family had business interests at Laragh and Cherryvale (Carnacarrowin) in the parish of Aghnamullen, county Monaghan. George M'Lear/McTear's estate of 718 acres at Laragh and Cornecarrow was for sale in the Landed Estates Court on 8 November 1864. James M'Kean may have bought some of this estate as he was resident at Laragh in 1876.
