Pringle (Selloo)
Cashin refers to a General William Pringle as Constable of Monaghan in the early 18th century and that he had a son William Henry Pringle. William Pringle held over a hundred acres in fee in the parish of Clones in the mid-19th century including Selloo where he had a residence. William Pringle of Glaslough [and Selloo] died in 1852, aged 74 and his wife Rebecca Anne died the following year aged 68. Both are buried at Caledon, county Tyrone with some of their children. In 1876, Oliver Pringle of ‘Salso’ House [Selloo], Smithboro’ owned 122 acres in county Monaghan.
