Fitzgerald (Castleblayney)

In 1878, John Fitzgerald of ‘Castleblayney’ owned 1,215 acres in county Monaghan and 128 acres in county Armagh. O'Hart records John Fitzgerald of Dublin and 'Castleblaney' under Fitzgerald of Cloyne, Abbeyfeale and Kilkee in his Irish Pedigrees, stating that John Fitzgerald was the fourth son of Robert, son of Edmund Fitzgerald of Abbeyfeale. John Fitzgerald had 3 sons, William of Castleblayney, Henry a Dublin solicitor and James and 2 daughters.
