Coote (Raconnell)

Thomas Coote acquired his estates in counties Cavan and Monaghan under the will (9 June 1800) of Charles Coote, 4th and last Earl of Bellamont, who died on 20 October 1800. In 1812, Thomas Coote married Margaret, eldest daughter of James Moore Boyle of Tullyvin, county Cavan. In 1841, their eldest son, Thomas, married Rebecca Horatio eldest daughter of Charles James Adams RN, Shinan House, county Cavan. In the mid-19th century Thomas Coote held land in the county Monaghan parishes of Tehallan, Tedavnet and Aghabog. He died in 1865 and his son Thomas Coote of Raconnell owned 1,905 acres in the county in 1876. This Thomas was married to Maria Alicia Adams and died in 1880, aged 36.
