Crawford (Cavancarragh)
This family settled in county Fermanagh in the 17th century. James Crawford (1682-1753), fourth son of Lawrence Crawford of Cavancarragh, county Fermanagh, had a son Andrew and three daughters. His second daughter, Isabella married Thomas Singleton of Fort Singleton, County Monaghan and had a son, Thomas. Andrew Crawford married his cousin, Catherine Crawford and their daughter Annabella married her first cousin, Thomas Singleton of Fort Singleton and had a daughter Isabella, who in 1802 married her first cousin Andrew Crawford of Auburn, county Dublin. Their son, Thomas Crawford, succeeded to the Fort Singleton estate and assumed the name of Singleton. The Crawfords also intermarried with members of the Moutray family.
