Griffith (Drumlane)
At the time of Griffith's Valuation Dorothea Griffith owned two townlands in the parish of Drumlane, county Cavan, Artonagh and Tomkinroad. She also held some land in the parish of Tomregan while the representatives of David Griffith [her husband] held part of Clowney in the parish of Drumlane. It seems this family had connections with the Caribbean island of St Croix. In 1876, Dorothea and Thomas Griffith, both of Griffith Lodge owned over 200 acres in county Cavan, Joseph Griffith owned 206 acres and John Griffith of Tomkinroad House owned 109 acres.
