Brunker
This family appear to have been settled in the Rockcorry area of county Monaghan from at least the mid-eighteenth century. Brabazon Brunker 1710-1775 married Dorothy Gault and had a son John who married Catherine Foster and died in 1796, see http://suzieq.net.au/HTMLFiles/HTMLFiles_49/P31751.html In 1796, John and Robert Brunker of the parish of Ematris in which the village of Rockcorry is situated, were recorded as flax growers. In the mid-nineteenth century Thomas Brunker [of Milmore, parish of Aghnamullen] held four townlands in the parish of Ematris while Edward George Brunker, a medical doctor, held one townland in the parish of Currin, barony of Dartree. In 1876 William Steele Brunker of Ardee, county Louth, owned 721 acres in county Monaghan.
