Nesbit (Banagh)
The Nesbit family had formerly been extensive landowners in South West Donegal but the estates had passed on by inheritance to other families by the mid-19th century. The lands around Ardara passed to the Tredennick family while those near Killybegs were inherited by William Barrett, Crown Solicitor for Donegal and his wife Mary, who was descended from the Nesbit family.
