Tredennick (Camlin)

In the 1870s William Tredennick of Fort William, Ballyshannon, was recorded as the owner of over 2700 acres in County Donegal as well as a large estate in County Roscommon and 400 acres in County Tyrone. John Arnold Tredennick was the proprietor of over 400 acres in county Donegal as well as lands in counties Fermanagh and Tyrone at the same time. At the time of Griffith’s Valuation members of the Tredennick family were among the principal proprietors in the parish of Kilbarron, barony of Tirhugh. Burke outlines the family history from Galbraith Tredennick who inherited Camlin on the death of his elder brother William, who died in 1816.
