Thornton
O'Dwyer writes that in September 1860 Sir Thomas Deane sold his house Dundanion, near Cork city, to William Wise a member of the Cork distillery family. Wise sold the property on to William Thornton a Cork merchant in 1868. In the 1870s William Thornton of South Mall, Cork, owned 504 acres in county Cork.
