Cosby
The Cosby family of Stradbally Hall, Queen's county [county Laois], appear to have owned some land in county Tipperary in the 1860s. The estate of Robert A. Godolphin Cosby comprised of 10 lots near the town of Nenagh and two lots near the town of Thurles was advertised for sale in 1869. The total acreage amounted to 1,602 acres. This family owned over 10,000 acres in county Laois in the 1870s.
