Maquay
George Disney Maquay, whose address is given as Ballybrittas, Monasterevan, was the owner of over 850 acres in county Waterford in the 1870s. The Maquays were a prominent Irish banking family who later settled in Florence. George Disney Maquay's mother was Elizabeth Disney, from whom these Waterford estates would have derived. An extensive collection of this family's papers is held in the archives of the British Institute in Florence. See http://www.britishinstitute.it/en/archive/maquay-collection.asp
