Ashworth (Co Tipperary)

In the mid 19th century Colonel F. Ashworth held at least 10 townlands in the parish of Yougalarra, barony of Owney and Arra, county Tipperary with some land in the parishes of Castletownarra, same barony, and Relickmurry and Athassel, barony of Clanwilliam. Colonel Frederick Ashworth was the second son of Robert Ashworth of Dublin. He was born in 1783, took part in the Napoleonic Wars and was knighted in 1850. He married Harriet daughter of Sir Bellingham Graham in 1833.
