Alcock (Counties Waterford & Wexford)
The Alcock families in counties Waterford and Wexford descend from John Alcock, of Downpatrick, county Down. His son William Alcock purchased Wilton Castle, county Wexford, around 1695 while his son Alexander served as Dean of Lismore and was married to Jane Mason of Waterford. The principal seat was at Wilton Castle, in county Wexford, where Colonel Harry Alcock owned over 7000 acres in the 1870s.
