In December 1854 and March 1855 the lands of Blakefield, 528 acres in the parish of Ardmeadle, barony of Upper Ormond, county Tipperary, the estate of William Valentine Smith were advertised for sale. George Fawcett is recorded as the immediate lessor of Blakefield in Griffith's Valuation.
