Barry (Rath)
An estate of 167 acres and a modern dwelling house at Rath, barony of Lower Ormond, county Tipperary, was advertised for sale in November 1869, the estate of David Barry. ''The Irish Law Times''(Vol 3, p.717) records the purchase of this property in trust for William Burke for £3,350. Four years later in December 1873 137 acres at Roden in the same barony held in fee simple were advertised for sale, the estate of Edward and David Barry.
