Wise (Rochestown)
In 1840 the Ordnance Survey Name Books mention Thomas Wise as a proprietor of townlands in the parish of Caher, county Tipperary. Charles William Wise of Rochestown, Cahir, county Tipperary, owned 322 acres in county Tipperary in the 1870s. His first wife was Penelope Saunders Smyth (see ''The Irish Law Times and Solicitors' Journal, Vol 3 1869). His third son, Major Francis Hubert Wise, was living at Rochestown in 1910.
