Dempster
In 1818 Dr James Dempster, of the 93rd Regiment, married Elizabeth Maria, only daughter of John Carroll of Newlawn, county Tipperary. In 1840 and at the time of Griffith's Valuation Dr Dempster held land in the parishes of Dolla and Templederry, barony of Upper Ormond and Terryglass, barony of Lower Ormond. In the 1870s the representatives of Dr Dempster, Clonmel, owned 315 acres in county Tipperary.
