Bolton (Nenagh)
In the 1870s George Bolton, Crown Solicitor, owned over 4,300 acres in county Tipperary and 303 acres in county Limerick. He also owned 618 acres in county Kildare, 579 acres in King's county (Offaly) and 265 acres in Queen's County (Laois). '' The Freeman's Journal'' of 19 Dec 1849 records the marriage of George Bolton, junior, of Nenagh and Henrietta J.M., daughter of Rowan P. Cashel of Silvermines Cottage, county Tipperary. Griffith's Valuation records George Bolton living in a house valued at £20+ in Summerhill, Nenagh, held from Malachy Ryan. The King's Inn Admission papers record George Bolton junior, third son of George Bolton of Kilebeg, Queen's County (Laois) and Catherine Standish, 1824.
