O'Dwyer (Co Tipperary)

By his will dated 1780 William Lyster otherwise O'Dwyer, a Dublin barrister, left his estate at Tullahedy and Garrane, county Tipperary, to his nephew Morgan O'Dwyer. In a codicil dated 1789 he left his lands at Gurteen, Grange, Corbally and Kilfacton in the baronies of Lower Ormond and Owney and Arra to Morgan O'Dwyer for life. Morgan O'Dwyer married a Miss Hickman, daughter of Poole Hickman of Kilmore, county Clare, in 1803. Griffith's Valuation records John O'Dwyer holding land in the parishes of Kilmore, barony of Upper Ormond and Monsea, barony of Lower Ormond, county Tipperary. The lands of Tullaheady and Garrane (1,282 acres), parish of Kilmore, barony of Upper Ormond, the estate of Edward Dowling, assignee of John O'Dwyer, were advertised for sale in May 1855. http://www.dwyerclan.com/
