Mason (Waterford)
Sir John Mason was a powerful figure in Waterford politics in the late seventeenth and early eighteenth century, serving as Mayor of Waterford and MP. Lands at Newtown, barony of Kilculiheen, which had been part of his estate, were offered for sale in the Incumbered Estates Court in 1857 by the Edwards family. They were held under a 1710 lease from Sir John Mason to Minard Christian.
