Mahony (Lotabeg)

A county Cork family, probably descended from Denis Mahony of Dromore, Kenmare, county Kerry. Martin Augustus Mahony married Elizabeth, daughter of George Ronayne of Ronaynescourt, county Cork, and their son, Martin Francis Mahony, born 1831, lived at Lotamore and his descendants at Lotabeg. It is not clear if this family were actually landed proprietors. They appear to have followed mainly business and military careers.
