Nunan/Noonan
The Nunan family were located at Moyge, parish of Liscarroll, barony of Orrery and Kilmore, county Cork, from the early 19th century. ''The Gentlemen's Magazine'' records the death at Bath, England, of Philip Nunan of Moyge, county Cork in 1814. The name is spelt Newman for the Moyge entry in Griffith's Valuation. The Nunan/Noonan family were also located in the town of Mallow. In May 1870 the estate of Philip Glover Newnan 87 acres at Moyge and 192 acres at Rowls Noonan, barony of Duhallow, was advertised for sale. The sale rental states that in 1808 Richard Boles leased Moyge to Philip Nunan, grandfather of the "present" owner. In the 1870s Denis Nunan of Moyge, Liscarroll, owned 174 acres and Michael Nunan of Mallow owned 877 acres in county Cork.
