Fitzgerald (Castle Richard)
A descendant of the Fitzgeralds, Senechals of Imokilly, Richard Fitzgerald lived at Castle Richard in the early 19th century. This family had been resident at Inchinycranagh or Castle Richard from the 17th century. In 1679 Edmond Fitzgerald son and heir of Colonel Richard Fitzgerald was granted over 3,000 acres in the baronies of Imokilly and Barrymore, including Inchinacrenagh.
