Geran (Rushmount)
Members of the Gearan family held land in the parishes of Kilphelan, Kilgullane and Kilcrumper, barony of Condons and Clangibbon, county Cork, in the mid 19th century. In the 1870s Anthony Geran and Mary Geran of Rushmount owned respectively 988 and 1,132 acres in county Cork and James Geran of Broomhill owned 278 acres. Sarah Gearan of Cork also owned 1,911 acres in the county.
