Whitney (Cork)
William Whitney, of Knocknanav, Belgooly, owned over 1000 acres in county Cork in the 1870s. He was among the principal lessors in Leighmoney parish, barony of Kinalea, at the time of Griffith's Valuation. He married Anne Hungerford of Burren, county Cork and their eldest son was Henry Hungerford Whitney whose was resident at Turrets, county Cork in 1910.
