Jeffers (Kinsale)
Benjamin Jeffers was among the principal lessors in the parish of Kilmonoge, barony of Kinalea, at the time of Griffith's Valuation. In May 1855, Charles Cottrell, assignee of Jane E. Jeffers, offered 100 acres, located in Barrlymartle parish, for sale in the Encumbered Estates Court. Almost 300 acres, the property of Benjamin Jeffers, was offered for sale in the Court in November 1857. This family may have been connected with the owners of Blarney Castle, prior to the marriage with the Colthursts in the mid-nineteenth century.
