Barrett (Carrigboy)

At the time of Griffith's Valuation John E. Barrett held an estate in the parish of Kilmichael, barony of West Muskerry, county Cork. In March 1851 part of Cooleclevane, parish of Kilmichael, 245 acres belonging to John Barrett was advertised for sale. In March 1856 the Carrigboy estate of over a thousand acres, belonging to John E. Barrett, Daniel O'Sullivan and Mary Anne Barrett, widow of Edward Barrett, was advertised for sale. In the 1870s John Edward Barrett of Carriganass Castle, Bantry, owned 818 acres in county Cork.
