Windle
The name Windle was mainly associated with county Kerry at the time of Griffith's Valuation. In the 1870s James Fitzgerald Windle, a solicitor of Tarbert, county Kerry, owned 550 acres in county Limerick. These lands [Ballygoghlan] were in the parish of Kilfergus, barony of Shanid, county Limerick. ''The Cork Examiner'' (22 Oct 1863) records the birth of one of his daughters and he had a son also named James Fitzgerald Windle who was killed in a car accident in 1914. James Fitzgerald Windle the elder died in 1889. see http://genforum.genealogy.com/cgi-bin/print.cgi?windle::368.html
