Carroll (Ballinvullin)

In the 1870s Thomas Carroll of Mitchelstown, county Cork, owned 1,942 acres in county Limerick, 282 acres in county Cork and 268 acres in county Tipperary. The Dictionary of Irish Architects refer to him as a Justice of the Peace and that in 1873 Ballinvullin House, Mitchestown, county Cork, was being remodelled for him in the Classical style by Robert Walker, architect, see http://www.dia.ie/works/view/51494/building
