Daniel Charles Bastable held land in the parishes of Clonfert and Clonmeen, barony of Duhallow, county Cork in the mid 19th century. In the 1870s he was still living at Gurteenard and owned 880 acres in the county. Also in the mid 19th century Daniel Bastable held land in the parish of St Patricksrock, barony of Middlethird, county Tipperary. The Rathsallagh estate, 480 acres in the barony of Middlethird, county Tipperary, was advertised for sale in February 1865 and again in May 1865. It was formerly the estate of Andrew Roe, then of Daniel Bastable and later of Arthur Bastable, deceased, and was been offered for sale by trustees. It was sold to Dr. Tuohill, Merrion-Square, Dublin, for over £4300.
