At the time of Griffith's Valuation Francis Coppinger held two townlands in the parish of Ballingarry, barony of Coshlea, county Limerick. Francis Coppinger of Monkstown Castle, county Dublin, is recorded by Hussey de Burgh in the late 1870s as owning 2,047 acres in county Cork, 1,257 acres in county Limerick and 1,412 acres in county Kildare. The return of landowners of one acre (1876) lists Francis Coppinger, no address, as owning 629 acres and Christopher Coppinger as owning 192 acres in county Limerick.
