Levis
John S. Levis was the owner of over 4000 acres in county Cork in the 1870s. At the time of Griffith's Valuation he was one of the principal lessors in the parish of Caheragh while Samuel Levis held townlands in the parishes of Castlehaven, Dromdaleague and Skull, barony of West Carbery, and Kilmacabea, barony of East Carbery. The family seem to have had Quaker origins and some members emigrated to Canada see www.westcorkgenealogy.com.
