Russell (Inchiquin)
In the 1870s Walter Russell of 2 Drummond Place, Stirling, Scotland, owned 1,847 acres of land in county Clare. It is evident from a reference in Hansard that he bought some of the estate of the Marquis of Thomond in the parish of Killinaboy, barony of Inchiquin in 1858. In 1906 Margaret D. Russell held over 1,100 acres of untenanted land in the townlands of Poulnalour, Lackareagh and Glenquin. http://hansard.millbanksystems.com/commons/1884/nov/20/irish-land-commission-sub-commissioners
