Sandes (Morgans North)
The Sandes family of Queen's county [county Laois] held an estate in the parish of Morgans, barony of Connello Lower, county Limerick in the mid 19th century from the Earl of Cork. In 1815 Captain Charles Lancelot Sandes of Indiaville, Queen's county, son of Lancelot Sandes and Sarah Croker, married Mary only sister of Sir Charles Henry Coote Baronet of Ballyfin, Queen's county. Sarah Sandes died at Morgans in 1843. In the 1870s Charles Sandes of Clontarf, county Dublin, owned 1,208 acres in county Limerick and 227 acres in county Kerry. see Nick Reddan newspaper extracts for some details of this family http://members.iinet.net.au/~nickred/newspaper/np_abst40.htm
