O'Gorman (Buncraggy)
At the time of Griffith's Valuation James O'Gorman held lands in the parishes of Kilkeedy, barony of Inchiquin, Clareabbley, barony of Islands and Kilmurry, barony of Ibrickan, county Clare. Reid records that he purchased 1,290 acres of the Marquis of Thomond estate in the parish of Carron, barony of Bunratty [Burren], in 1857. James O’Gorman of Buncraggy died in January 1861 and was buried in Kilfarboy. Thomas O'Gorman of Buncraggy owned 1,076 acres in county Clare in the 1870s. He married Margaret Kelly of Doolough Lodge and they had a son Thomas who was residing at Buncraggy in 1910.
