In the 1870s James Shannon, a solicitor, of Rivoli, Ennistymon, county Clare and of Dublin, owned 874 acres in county Clare. Maria Shannon held 152 acres of untenanted land and buildings worth £22 at Ballingaddy West, rural district of Ennistimon, in 1906.
