In July 1877 over 800 acres in the parish of Feakle, barony of Tulla Upper, county Clare, belonging to John Mulquin were advertised for sale. The Irish Times reported on the purchasers, who included some of the tenants of the lots. John Mulquin was born about 1809 and died on 21 February 1885 at Cartown, county Limerick. He married Honoria Sheehy. In the 1870s John Mulqueen of Cartown, Pallaskenry, owned 842 acres in county Clare.
