Maj. C.G Fairfield family held a townland amounting to over 700 acres, together with a hunting lodge, in the barony of Trughanacmy at the time of Griffith's Valuation. In the 1830s, the Ordnance Survey Name Books record him as a proprietor of several townlands in Ballincuslane Parish in common with Col. Drummond.
