Gallway (Corkaguiny)
The Ordnance Survey Field Name Books indicate that the Gallway estate in Corkaguiny was on lease forever from the Knight of Kerry. Michael Gallway held property in the parish of Dingle, barony of Corkaguiny at the time of Griffith’s Valuation. In October 1858 over 1000 acres of his estate was offered for sale in the Encumbered Estates Court. The sale notice indicates the involvement of the Gallway estate in a Chancery case with the Aikenhead estate. In the 1870, Michael Gallway, of Ballybeg, Dingle, owned over 600 acres in county Kerry.
