Morton

At the time of Griffith's Valuation John Morton held land in the parish of Kilglass, barony of Ballintober North and Sarah Morton held land in the parishes of Kilgefin, barony of Ballintober South and Lissonuffy, barony of Roscommon, county Roscommon. Some of this estate was sold in the Landed Estates Court in May 1865 when it was purchased in trust by George Walpole and Thomas Roberts, some of it for Sarah Morton. Mrs Susan Morton of Strokestown, owned 1,130 acres in county Roscommon in the 1870s.
