Byrne/Burne (Curraghboy)
William Gacquin states that the Byrne family were middlemen who came to Cam parish, barony of Athlone, county Roscommon, in the late 18th century. They appear to have held land from the Talbots of Mount Talbot and from the Dillons of Clonbrock. At the time of the first Ordnance Survey the Burnes had two residences, Curraghboy House and Curraghboy Lodge.
