Kelly (Bernard)

The estate of Michael and Patrick Kelly of Turlagh or Ballagh, parish of Rahara, barony of Athlone, was advertised for sale in the Encumbered Estates' Court in June 1853. The purchaser was Bernard Lynott, solicitor, in trust. Bernard Kelly held land and property in the town and vicinity of Athlone, county Roscommon in the mid 19th century, including Kilmore in the parish of Killinvoy and Ballagh in the parish of Rahara. Land, houses and premises belonging to Bernard Kelly were advertised for sale in December 1865, March 1866 and April 1872. Bernard Kelly and Henry O'Beirne were trustees of the will of Bernard Francis Kelly. Henry O'Beirne advertised the sale of Kilmore, parish of Killinvoy in June 1875. Some of Kelly's former premises in the town of Athlone were resold by Martin O'Carroll in December 1878 with other property in county Westmeath.
