Roche (Cloonkeen)
In the 1870s Michael Roche of Cloonkeen, Tuam, county Galway, owned 825 acres in the county. Cloonkeen was in the parish and barony of Dunmore and was part of the Shee estate at the time of Griffith's Valuation. The estate Margaret Roche, widow, at Cloonkeen, was advertised for sale in the Land Judges' Court in November 1889. The Irish Times reported that some lot were sold to the existing tenant while Martin Kilgarriff purchased another lot for over £3000.
