Mahon (Killalaghtan)
In the 1870s John Mahon of Ballydonnellan is recorded as the owner of almost 1300 acres in county Galway. His father was the Very Reverend James Mahon, Dean of Dromore, younger brother of Sir Ross Mahon of Castlegar. John Mahon married Harriet Dillon of Johnstown, county Roscommon. His son married into the Persse of Roxborough family.
