D'Arcy (Wellfort)
Martin D'Arcy, a brother of James D'Arcy of Newforest, founded the D'Arcy of Wellfort estate, parish of Kilkerrin, barony of Tiaquin, county Galway. He married Henrietta Beytagh of Cappagh House and his grandson owned an estate of almost 3,000 acres in the locality in the 1870s. The lands of Lehurick, parish of Kilkerrin, were advertised for sale by Dominick D'Arcy in May 1870.
