In the early years of the 19th century Gortnamona was the residence of Giles Eyre. It had originally been a Burke house but became part of the Blake estate in the mid 19th century when Valentine Blake married Anne Burke. Lewis records it as the seat of Patrick Blake in 1837. He was also resident there at the time of Griffith's Valuation when it was valued at £25. It is still extant but in need of repair.
