Ballynoe House, later known as The Hermitage to avoid confusion with the neighbouring house of the same name, was occupied by Abraham Hargrave in 1837 and at the time of Griffith's Valuation, held from James H.S. Barry and valued at £14.15 shillings. Abraham Hargrave owned 36 acres at Ballynoe in the 1870s. This single storey house, originally intended to be built as a stable block, is currently not in use.
