The Boyses were a county Wexford landed family. In the mid 19th century Thomas Boyse owned the townland of Carraghy, parish of Annaghdown, barony of Clare, county Galway. He was married to Jane Stratford Kirwan. In 1853 he sold this property of 271 acres to John G. Holmes.
